Jim Lang announced that:

The District Conference will be held in Albany, NY from May 2nd to May 5th. Attendance from our club is low so far.

The District Assembly will be held at the Trumbull Marriott on May 17th, right after our morning meeting. Our club will pay for your attendance, but you must submit your name to Michael Redgate to be properly registered. All Club Officers must attend. The featured speaker will discuss the Polio Plus program. The event will be held from 8:30AM until 3:45PM.

Our installation dinner will be held at Vazzy’s on June 7th.

Bicycle Bill Zeidenberg announced that the Bike-a-thon will be held on June 9th, and sponsors are needed. Registration so far is low, and more riders are urgently needed. The route starts at Madison Middle School, and will consist of rides of seven, fifteen, or thirty-five miles. It is not a race, but a tour through scenic areas of town. There will be a meeting at Old Towne Pizza at 5:00PM on Tuesday for anyone interested in helping.

Jim Bardon announced that the Golf Tournament committee would meet after next weeks meeting. Committee members are needed to work in many areas.

New Member Introduction:

Joe Ruospo introduced our 73rd member, Karen Ronald, Trumbull’s own Librarian. Barry Diamond sponsored Karen. She previously gave an excellent presentation to our club during which she talked about her vision to improve many areas of service to the town. Karen mentioned how Ted Merritt, Barry and Thelma Hoyt recruited her, and knew it was only a matter of time before she joined us. She mentioned how our Rotary club can help her bring positive change to the library, to benefit everyone in town. Welcome!

Program:

Bob Patragnelli took great pleasure in introducing our speaker, whom Bob said he has known since his son was just a twinkle in his eye. Bob Senior said his son Bob graduated from Fairfield University then went to Georgetown for medical school, then to Yale. Shortly thereafter, Bob Junior decided to attend Tulane University to study Dermatology.  Bob Junior said he was looking forward to working with his Dad and our other members at the grill during our Carnival. He then presented a slide show of the various skin conditions often seen by Dermatologist’s in their specialized filed of medicine. One of the things he enjoys about Dermatology is that the treating physician does not need an X-ray or an EKG to make a diagnosis. The problem is visible to the trained eye.

Raffle:  Karen Ronald and Joe Ruospo drew for $364.00, but did not select the winning card.
